PS. Like I said in the first comment - I don't know your role. I don't see it. In fact, I see getting a nightgaunt-using conjurer into [MARAN] is like getting a warrior into Sylvan. You should expect adversity. You should expect putting in a time commitment. How many hours did you have on this character before you packed it in and deleted? Next time, don't. So, there it is - my humble advice: 1. Commit to a character - use 200 hour invoker practice as a yardstick for time involvement. Delete only when you're quitting the game (even if it's for the fifth time :) ).
I just suggested that if you were using Nightgaunts, you should have a very, very good explanation of how that fits into your role as a Maran, using your character's role command (which you suggested you didn't use until very late). The earlier in life, the better.
2. Next time seek out and talk to active Maran, and be very, very patient.
3. Use the role command early on.
4. I liked Lewantes. Sorry to see you go, would have liked the support/fun.
