Funny thing. I read this email about a guy who lost his password. I think to myself "sucks to be him, but we don't fix that sort of thing, to avoid people trying to get us to "fix" a password for a char that doesn't belong to them. Not even thinking about the stuff Nep mentioned below, which would be a good reason not to send a role out, I check out the guy's role online, copy and paste it into a log file, and reply to the guy. I say in my email to him that no, we don't fix passwords, sorry, but here is his role. I also say that getting his description would be more difficult, as I would really have to go look at the pfile, I then copy and paste his role into the email, and send it. Two days later, I get a returned email. Seems the address he'd emailed us with wasn't correct, or his mail server had some problems. In any case, I promptly forgot about the whole thing, since I had no real way of contacting the guy. Sure, I could have posted that information For the comprehension impaired, the "guy" was, indeed, Motiak. Sorry you didn't get your role, but it wasn't that we didn't care.
Then I read that this guy wants his role and his description sent to him.
and fix the whacked formatting that the text editor on the server puts in...but anyways, his role is attached below.
on this forum, but that's not really the sort of thing I bring to the forum, I'm more of a "sit back and answer questions" type guy. If I had,
in fact, known that this role of this guy was so important that it would sour him on CF completely to NOT get it sent to him, I'd likely have
tried posting here, or going to IRC to find him, or some such. But, I didn't, so...I didn't. Case closed.
