I'm coming in on the string early... but from what i've read, something needs to be clarified. Hifflio put an incredible amount of time in on a character that was both enjoyable and well thought out. Where he went wrong was his expectations of the char and the imms. Say what you will, Hifflio, your heart was set on a quest form or some sort of constant praise/interaction for exemplary roleplay. In the end, all you wanted was to be acknowledged, which was definitely deserved. However, as you play this game for enjoyment, so do the Imms. If they aren't in the mood to spend the hours on a quest form or interact with you, they simply aren't obliged to do it, reguardless of the effort you're putting in. Granted it seems that being an Imm comes with the good and the bad of putting hard work into cf... I still think you expected too much.

Your character was clearly the result of a lot hard work, but say for one week where you're logging in regularly and trying to interact.... while the imms you need have some sort of RL obligations that keep them away. When the Imms come back, any good reason could keep them from continuing your story line. Perhaps some rl problems have put them in a bad mood, or they simply don't feel like doing the coding and just want to enjoy the game they've been away from for a while. This isn't necessarily what happened, but you get the picture. I know the char was around for quite a while, but it's my guess that you played a lot more vigorously in your early 300 hours than your last 200+... part of getting these quest forms or "roleplay rewards" is creating a well developed rp for your char, and part of it is having the right Imm around at the right time.

All in all, well played. Good luck with your next char, and lighten up a bit..

ps. the part about you emoting alone in the tower was scary, wait for some imm response before you get down with your bad roleplaying self! (not saying only roleplay when the imms are watching... but you get the picture).

I think the shifting setup is pretty cool and all but frankly I could use some of it as a "what not to do" style guide on writing clear code that other human beings can understand. Would it be much easier to do now again, sure.
