It has just rained in the desert. The sand is cool and damp. As
the clouds clear and the sun shines through, the water becomes
eager to rise up once again, it missing the glorious view it once
had. It begins its flight upward, leaving behind all that has
joined with it, the lazy dirt trying to catch a ride into the
heavens simply cannot hold on. As the water finally reaches the
sky, it begins to hear the cry of the plants below, the cacti and
the beautiful flowers. They beg the water to return, it being
the only thing to cool them and keep them from burning in the sun.
The water, being nice as it is, is quite anxious to help the
kind plants. It all rushes down at once causing great floods.
The plants are cooled and the earth cleaned so that new life may
grow where the old has died. The water, once again eager to
reach the clouds, begins to fly up once again.
