Dhaevor and the village.... (I know this is a bit belated but I was carrousing so I didn't have time to pen it earlier):

I wrote this better but the log board had a problem and I'm lazy so you get the half ass version....Nullrick

Quinthen I'm not sure if I read sarcasm there or not. From my missives to all and my talk amongst the village and outside I have never slipped from being a mouthy bastard. That is me. Dhaevor was never someone I respected. Primarily, because he would never show up in the realms without Kacic whatever his name is. Yes I said all of that, but Dhaevor was an utter moron from the get go. Like he said, he was off doing other stuff he wasn't paying attention to exactly what was asked or what was said.

We'd just raided empire. Where was Dhaevor? Off doing his own thing, that's fine I don't need Dhaevor to hold my hand like he needed a bard to hold his. I gathered those who were interested and we raided the palace. Quinthen escaped, no biggy. Killing a healer is just crazy unless he gets ballsy and stays too long, especially with black shroud. Imperial healers should always be able to escape ragers, unless they're raiding or recovering from the village when the one on one aspect isn't an issue.

No biggy, we got the codex Quinthen kept his life. Someone else took the codex and I and the Eueoniar started running to highlord's cause as a half-elf that and mortorn are two places I can never enter alone. (the keys are iron)
Someone says can you sing frightful fiend in combat? I say if I'm fighting, nope. If you had rescued me at the omegus yeah.

That was all I said. Didn't elaborate didn't say let's wait at a recall point, or we're hunting him.

Dhaevor starts his holier than thou everyone need's to listen to me blabber on when I only 'think' I heard something. I'm me...I penned my title on all of my missives the Foul Bastard.. not because I didn't bathe, (contrary to popular belief) but because I'm pretty much an arss. But in the thick of things when you get summoned into the Omegus with 5 imperials ready ta beat ye'r arss, I'm that self same bastard who will run up there to see if I can buy you enough time to get ye'r arss out.

So yes I treated Dhaevor like a pedantic child with a ‘mine is bigger than yours’ complex, I didn't like him anyway! (scoffs and hocks up something better left unidentified) why would I start paying him lip service as if I respected him? I treated him like I always had. I saw his position and his ego driven inane chatter for what it was, he has ever been a moron in my eyes. He felt we needed a nursemaid, as did Thror for some reason, so I responded as a petulant child who requires such. Yes some of us fell in raiding the empire. Did he take that into account? That his brothers fought and warred in the same war he professed to be dedicated to? Did his perpetual flunky Kacic? (mutters something about a couple of arial lovers) No. I will have ye know this, I examined the tablet. It says you will respect your mortal leader and the gods of Battle at all times, nowhere does it say...and the bonehead keeper of the tablet.

The only reason I wouldn't fight Dhaevor was purely because as a village bard my songs don't do anything to ragers but help them. His challenging me was in my eyes nothing more than his admitting that he couldn’t back his position. In a battle of blades I acknowledge that while we are both of the village he is my better. I asked Thror to remove me and Dhaevor from the village and let us fight, but he would not have it. (growls inarticulately and makes hand gestures that need no explanation)
Honestly the village lost alot of my respect when Dhaevor was made the Leader, as did Thror. I along with Fayesheng and Eueoniar left the village voluntarily. Because if that's how the village was to be I'd rather not be in it. I likewise refused to spread word of the village and find like minded souls to take up the war while he was the Leader, likewise with Minalcar. Though to be fair Minalcar gained some degree of respect from me just before he became the Leader. I still think Thror was the best 'mortal' leader, as an Immortal alot of what made him really command respect has been lost. I suppose that's to be expected because he nolonger sheds his blood in battle with you, so that vital aspect of kinship is missing. Dhaevor was never someone who I felt had staked anything more than his lips to the gods of Battle collective rear ends. Many may know otherwise I wasn't part of the village while he was the leader so if there are instances where he proved his heart then I would be the first to say well done. Takashimi went out from the village to face Zorszaul, Dhaevor whined because most of battle was in hell when he had to defend at the Destructor, and contrary to what Zorszaul has said I've no doubt he knew exactly where the majority of the ragers in Thera were.

I am flippant and an arss, but if you are I would call a friend I’ll stand with you to the bitter end.

I never respected Dhaevor, the fact that he was cast from the village and managed to elucidate on the tablet to the point that he impressed Thror so much meant nothing to me because he's the one that broke the laws. Why should his axe to grind because of his screw up become mine when I'd never violated the tablet? I had no reason to humor his holier than though attitude in a village composed of those who are made brothers in a righteous cause. Not as stupid barbarians who think that magic is something they can’t grasp so ugh me kill’t. Let those fools join the empire. That is what made me lose respect for Minalcar and those other ‘followers’ who like the sucker fish on the shark attach themselves and hope to become something or eek by enough to survive. Fools who placed their own honor over the basic necessity of the war are best left as knights or such. I am not saying there is no room for an eclectic mix of personality and diverse types in the village. I am saying that the cause of the village is primary, and that is the war upon the tainted ones. By making Dhaevor the keeper and giving him the rights Thror did he in effect made him equal to the Leader of Battle. In my eyes Thror failed, he introduced a foreign element into the village, a villager who knew nothing of kinship or rallying for the cause, but a village who was much like an imperial watchdog within the village. That in and of itself disgusts me to no end. But like mortals, gods err as well..

I'm sure many of you will disagree or leap to Dhaevors defense, the simple truth is I never violated the tablet. And in 'my eyes, he could go stuff his swords up his arss for all I cared. In combat I'd rush in with him like I would any of the village. A force at war divided within is half the force at best. But as an individual he wasn't fit to be the Golems piss pot boy.

(This is in character, I realize that Dhaevor was sticking to what Thror said and he responded how he saw fit when our characters rubbed eachother the wrong way. In the words of Nullrick, 'Shit happens, what do you wanna do next?')
