One of the easiest ways to avoid pushing feelings or actions off on other characters is to avoid using the word 'you' in your description. For example, instead of "He seems to pay you no attention" something like "He keeps his eyes to himself for the most part and does not appear to have much interest in those around him." Just think about when you describe yourself to someone you don't know, you wouldn't say how they see you, but rather how you see yourself and you wouldn't use the word 'you' in your description.
