The entirety of the first couple of books is about figuring out what justice is(My sphere was justice). Polemachus was actually a character in The Republic who thought that justice was "Doing good to ones friends and bad to ones enemies" or put more plainly "Making sure everybody gets what they deserve." There is no question that the city in state that Socrates outlines in the book is very communistic, but you must remember that everything in the formation of that city in state was for the expressed purpose of making it as just as possible. One might argue that at its root communism is more just than capitalism.
