At the same time you do something like this, or in some other way add/boost the defenders, there should be a similar reduction to the berserkers. Perhaps bringing area spellbane down to about 50-60% effective (when it is two characters of equal level, so a hero vs. hero, the area spell gets baned a little more than half the time). This would make a one on one fight between a hero berserker rager just a tad more reasonable, and it would make the other two rager types that much more attractive.

> 1) Defenders are there to help others, and have little offensive power in and of themselves. Playing a defender takes a similar mindset as playing a healer. People who have this mindset tend not to play Battle in the first place.

> 2) Healers have a tough time killing people, and are mainly there to help others survive and/or kill people. They are also, however, the easiest class in the game to survive as. Defenders both have a tough time killing people, AND have the toughest time surviving, out of the three types of Rager.

> My simple slap-on solution:

> Make defender resist about as effective as black shroud in terms of damage reduction. Alternately, keep the pure damage reduction of resist the same, but make it give resist all (resist fire/cold/drowning/electricity/wrath/negative/physical/mental/etc.) They wouldn't be better at killing people than berserkers, but they also wouldn't die in two seconds to a vuln-exploiting invoker.
