There are two kinds of lag.
1. Is the kind you're thinking of: Mud-based lag, where the command hits the MUD, but the mud doesn't decide to process it for some time. That's where you see the command on the screen, but nothing happens for quite some time.
2. Is the kind I get. That's where you enter a command, but between the time it leaves your pc to the time it hits the mud is major lag. I.e., when I had the earlier fight, I typed impale. Due to lag on my ISP or bounces to the mud, it didn't actually 'hit' the mud until later. When you see the command is not when I typed it, but when the mud 'accepts' it. So, although I had typed Impale some time back, the mud didn't accept it until some time later, and processed it fairly quickly, leading me to believe that this lag was isp/route based. I've had lots of experience with this kind of lag, and am intimately familiar with it.
