But there are those whom you can't convince. I've actually succeeded in dissuading neutrals and in some cases evils from defiling. Though for all I know maybe they did it again as soon as I left. But Mendeiron is right. Most of the time you get spit on, cursed at, and so forth. Imperials will mock you. And anyone in your range will almost assuredly just attack you. It'd be like playing a Battlerager who refuses to attack people and tries only to win them over with words. 99% of people are NOT going to give up using magic, because RP or no, if their players wanted that, they'd have rolled Ragers. And maybe 95% of people aren't going to give up killing natural mobs for exp. So what do you do? Stand there and watch the dryads die and say "Please, think of the eternal Balance! Think of your own life!" while they sneer at you? What kind of a protector would you really be if that were the case? Furthermore, a fundamental Sylvan tenet, in the cabal help file, is that duergar/drow/necros are corruptions of life, and should be slain without question. Given the above framework, sure, be peaceful...
