I know this subject is been beat to death but having my first experience with one of these creatures, I must talk about it. I wish I had the log but I dont use Zmud so heres what the situation was...
Rank 35 A-P with perfected parry and shield block and a dam roll of around 40 and AC about -175. Gaunt hits me in my guild. STOP
This has gotta go. Cant we have one lousy room in all of thera to relax without having to worry about a gaunt? Cant summon in a guild so why should you be able to gaunt?
Anyway, I had 605 hp with my eq. In TWO rounds, I had 202 hp. I got one massacre and a dismember and it did countless ***DEMOLISHES***. So, 403 points of damage in two rounds.. that is ridiculous. I blinded it and was getting ready to rescue with my charmy when I got carried off. Of course, the second I was dropped, he was lashing and the archon's wrath was all she wrote. My mistake was not fleeing instantly once he missed the lash so I could quaff but I was too busy absorbing this whole thing.
So, this sucks. I do have a question though... Can a gaunt still attACK you blind if you flee? Also, what if I had gotten the rescue in.. would it have been able to redirect while blind?
Well, I hope somebody fixes these things... its outta control. Curse that scarab bastard for coming up with these world summoning super-fiends.. Lets just bring back group gate and shadow.
