On a only-slightly-related tangent, I can't speak for anyone else, but what would have really impressed me would have been seeing smug players on opposite sides of the battlelines even once. Try picking opposite alignments or causes that go against each other. A smug Maran vs a smug Imperial vs a smug Entropy would be infinitely more interesting that smug permagroups or the occasional smug loner.
I realize you always thought I was out to get you but I'm actually responding to this in order to help. The entire time I've interacted with you and the other smug folks it seems to me that the critical disconnect between smug and the imms (that has prevented any sort of harmony) has been centered around what constitutes a rules violation. You and the others reiterate that the imms are full of shit and should leave you alone because you aren't cheating. There's a section of the rules that says nor does it mean everybody from your site can group together and kill everybody in their PK range, and right there is the crux of your problem. Some immortals are willing to look at every one of your characters independently; for this you probably think they like you. Others will view everything you do through the eyes of each permagroup you guys form that violates the rule above. You can get pissy about it and say, X logged in without Y on these seven occasions or say, Z had a perfectly good IC reason for grouping with X, but if it looks and tastes and smells like a permagroup, no amount of explanation or rationalization is going to convince the immortals otherwise.
