In the strictest sense, I would say that I tend to prefer realistic roles. When I say strictest, I mean when I'm judging for a role contest. That certainly doesn't mean some of the winners to the role contests haven't been fantastic...but when I'm reading through a role that's kinda out there, I have this little piece of my brain that's flashing, "no you didn't...we don't have mutant mermaid vampires in Thera" or whatever. I hesitate to post this, because I don't want to scare anyone away or put a damper on creativity. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm more impressed when a role defines why a character is who he or she is, in a realistic, "human", sort of way. But, you know, I would certainly be bored if everyone wrote that same kind of role...so I'm sure yours serves as a nice change-up. Of course, this is purely my opinion and there might very well be several immortals that feel the exact opposite. I'd venture to say that you should write a role that makes you happy, because most likely it will affect you 100 times more than it will affect the immortals. If fantastic causes you to sink yourself into the character and enjoy the game more...go for it.
