There is the issue of consistency, Grallon.

See, below Graham posted his Michael Flatley character. It spoke of wood-elf mages, a supreme god of Prancing or something, and many places. None of these things are part of the Theran milieu. CF has its own take on this sort of thing.

Where I usually get racial info on characters is within CF areas. Many of the races have areas more or less dedicated to them (Where's the cloud giant town? Eh?) Most of these towns are accessible to low-level types, though the evil races tend to be a bit more difficult in this respect. (Aran'Gird is great for learning about duergar.... if you bring three heroes.) Also, you can usually find many examples of mobs which are of that race around. I can think of dozens of duergar, to continue with the previous example. All of these duergar have the advantage of being "Cf-approved"- their descriptions are consistent from area to area, to some extent. If you go and read Mary Kay Gavariel or whoever, they might have an elven race that is eight feet tall. Using one of these descriptions would be out of place on CF, where the elves are more petite.

So poke around Thera a bit. It's fun to ask male high elves why they have female first names, as an example. And many drow just plain have it wrong. Sure, CF uses a lot of fantasy sources as raw material, so many books have similar race archetypes, but adding little bits of detail gleaned from Thera never hurts.

> This author is often criticized for over descibing the physical characteristics of a scene....but he does so in such a colorful language that I found it to be actually uplifting from the everyday popcorn you usually get.

> With almost every character introduction, he gives a very in depth description of their physical characteristics... He has giants, Wraiths, Dwarves, Lios Alfar(elves), Svart alfar(orcs/duergar) Humans, as well as some others.
