I don't see classes as having set agendas. Take for example an evil ranger. Now the ranger helpfile says that rangers are the guardians of the forest, but would an evil ranger really be protecting tiny forest guardians? I don't think so. I can see an Imperial Ranger, who advises the Emperor on the best kinds of tree to use in building a city, or that same ranger preparing the forests for the advance of civilization by locating and fixing pitfalls, thinning the resistance of the creatures, and so forth. I think that's a perfectly valid role, one I've tried but decided rangers weren't for me.

Scarabaeus has said that Imperial paladins and Scarab paladins are possible. Would they still really be doing what the paladin helpfile says they should? No, probably not, but they might be able to pull it off and be one of the most famous chars in CF history.

The point is, you DO NOT have to do what the helpfile and Academy says you have to do in order to be that class. I think a sylvan assassin should be possible, even embraced because of what he can bring to the fight. If I were to play that role I'd probably tell people not to call me an assassin, opting rather for "fighting monk" or somesuch.
