> I thought you were a smart player... I am > Uhh...conjuring nightgaunts to fight evil is HORRIBLE for a Maran. It is a vicious hypocrisy. Would you join a necromancer to fight the Empire? There is basically no difference. A Maran destroys evil whenever they can. They don't form alliances with them. They don't allow them to exist by creating a use for them. Evil is evil. Marans kill evil. It is that simple. The ends do not justify the means. Did you ever read that old Krow(sp?) quote that was on Glimo's forums? The gist of it was 'the hardest thing in life(as a paladin) was to fight evil without becoming evil. Enslaving an evil creature to kill another evil creature is NOT the same as becoming evil. > I used nightgaunts because they're damn powerful, and you can pretty much kill off 90% of your opponents without having to worry about dying yourself. It takes absolutely no skill to use them, and the reason I rolled up a conjurer in the first place was to try to see if they really were as overpowered as people said. I haven't used nightgaunts much with my other conjurers for some reason, but I'm going to with the next ones. > It would have been better if you had sat there and conjured a devil, demon and nightgaunt every chance you could just to kill them. As you did it, you deserved what you got, nothing. Every time I think of Lewantes I am going to laugh. And if you go on acting like you didn't screw this char over by doing it, I am going to laugh every time you post on these forums. You will forgive me if I don't really seem to care if you laugh at my posts? You sound like you played one of the imperials I killed. > > > (and conjuring nightgaunts doesn't CREATE them) Shokai?
> You used the nightgaunts because they were convenient and you didn't want to have to adjust your strategy. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same one you've been using for your previous conjies. You can be pretty sure that using nightgaunts IS why you didn't receive any immortal attention. The fact that you don't see anything wrong with using them is weak and bs.
> > I can't see what the problem is about setting an evil creature to fight another evil creature. Either way an evil creature dies.
But I would very much like to know if this is official dogma, that binding evil creatures as a maran is a big no-no.
