No. No. No. No.

Any number of IMMs have been posting the exact opposite for months here of the Fora. Stop spreading this myth. It keeps popping up.

The Role command is used to describe a character's background and motivations. This is true regardless of what they are. Roles are not compulsory, but I would not count on IMMs interacting with you in a favorable way if you cannot be bothered to briefly summarize this much.
