You have to write a role only if your roleplaying
is unclear from your life/actions
so you put some explanations into the "role".
It is more a crutch to show your intentions

Your role is what you SHOW to players, it is HOW you
talk, act, it is your behaviour.
(if you are a thief it does not mean you should
tell everybody you are, but you should act like one.)

and the "text role" it is an excuse you put in for immortals
to elaborate your role more when your actions
don't fit your role.
